What do music and fragrance have in common? For me, it's the way they can both take us back to a certain time in our life. They create time capsules in our minds. A certain song or scent can transport you back to the time and place you associate it with. Whenever I smell Gucci Rush, I'm reminded of my high school years--which is probably why I no longer reach for my Gucci Rush (lol).
Here are some of my favourite scents for the winter season.
I'll admit it, I don't actually own this fragrance, but I did try a sample pre COVID times and I haven't stopped dreaming about it since. This delicious gem comes with a hefty price tag of $555 for a 100 ml but this warm, spicy scent is well worth the cost. Key notes are: black cherry, bitter almond, tonka bean and Turkish rose. It's hands down one of the most unique scents I've ever smelled. I've heard that in comparison to other Tom Ford scents, Lost Cherry's lasting power is only a few hours. Hey Tom Ford, send me a bottle so I can determine if this is true! *wink*
Tobacco Vanille was my first TF love. It's classic, sophisticated and sexy. Key notes are: tobacco leaf, ginger and cocoa. Did I mention this is Harry Styles' signature scent? Add to cart, checkout!
"Tobacco Vanille is opulent, warm, and iconic. Reminiscent of an English gentleman‘s club and blended with rich spices, vanilla, and tobacco flower, it leaves a powerful impression."—Tom Ford

Le Labo: Thé Noir 29
Le Labo is king at the fragrance game. That perfume you smell everywhere? That's Santal 33. Nowadays it's weird if someone doesn't smell like Santal 33. But Le Labo has a long list of boutique signature scents and Thé Noir 29 is one of them.
Thé Noir 29 has notes of bergamot, fig, bay leaves, cedar wood, vetiver and musk. It's a sensuous and additive essence.

When I smelled Glossier's You fragrance for the first time, I instantly fell in love. It's a perfect, long lasting, musky scent. My boyfriend picked it up for me at their flagship store while on a trip to NYC. Buying a perfume that you've never smelled before can be tricky. You find yourself debating whether or not it's worth the purchase. To anyone reading who does not live near a Glossier store and has been thinking about buying this perfume, DO IT!
If it's good enough for Lana Del Rey, it's good enough for me. Key notes are: geranium, peach and pink pepper. Floral blended with pachouli, making it the perfect mixture of sweet and musky.

By the Fireplace is the ultimate winter scent. Sweet and smokey. So special and nostalgic. It smells like marshmallows roasting on an open fire. Key notes are: clove oil, chestnut accord and vanilla accord.
